EVERLASTING EVENT is an evening in transformation, where the dance is created right in front of you. Choreographers James Batchelor and Jeanine Durning share an evening where the focal point is improvisation.

James’ work EVENT is a world in flux, exploring movement as social play. Personal inflections and expressions unify within the rhythm of the music. The conditions for a new kind of social dance emerge, with echoes of the familiar.

New York-based choreographer Jeanine Durning combines post- and hypermodernism with ease in the piece EVERLASTING – A NEW LOVE. Durning defies your expectations and challenges your limits through a torrent of movement, text, and stimulating moments.

EVERLASTING EVENT world premieres at Norrlandsoperan 25 Oct 2023, followed by a vivid tour at Dansens Hus Stockholm (1-2 Nov 2023) and northern Sweden.

Welcome to a unique music event at Hangaren, Subtopia, in Botkyrka, Stockholm (SE) on Sunday 19 Nov 2023. Meet the dancers Henrietta Wallberg, Katarina Eriksson, Daniel Staaf, and Adam Stanišić Stålhammar with Västerås Sinfonietta and youth choir Stockholm`s Music Gymnasium, together with 100 children from schools in Botkyrka. Artist and director Charlotte Engelkes and conductor Christian Karlsen's idea is to allow children, perhaps for the first time, to meet and express themselves to symphonic music. During five school weeks, dancers and children meet together to make one big dance concert. The focus is also on letting the children's own thoughts about life and death be told to Mozart's famous piece Requiem from 1791. Life and death side by side.

Come and experience how over 100 children of primary and middle school age take on Mozart's otherworldly beautiful Requiem. A celebration of life through movement and music. Four dancers, 60 young choir singers, and a symphony orchestra together with the children create a powerful work of art for all ages in the large Hangar at Subtopia in Botkyrka, Stockholm (SE).

A dance concert with symphonic meetings for young people, where the children become dancers, bodies and voices to the painfully beautiful and famous Mozart's Requiem. More info and tickets here.

All in a total jumble that can change over time, down to a few minutes, or just seconds! Like the psychopath's actions and appearances, this performance is extremely unpredictable and strikes at the same time a powerful contemporary beat to enlighten and prevent the encounter with a psychopath. Watch out!” - XQ28 (DK)

Ingenious maths, existential march, and nostalgic intensities are set in motion in choreographer Björn Säfsten's new work AND SO WE'RE GONE for four dancers at Dansens Hus/Elverket.

AND SO WE'RE GONE is partly based on repeated patterns of walking and partly an intense flickering of expressions creating an equilibristic choreography approached with humour, seriousness, and imagination. On stage, geometries, rituals, and everydayness are contrasted with situations like memories, or are they fantasies, intensities of a life lived and a life lost? Björn Säfsten continues to challenge the abstract and concrete at the heart of the movement in a work that wants to explore our sensible experience of time.

Plays at Dansens Hus Elverket 26-28 Oct 2023.

For the full credits list, additional information, and tickets - go here. Supported by The Swedish Arts Council, The Swedish Arts Grants Committee, and Stockholm Stad.
