We’re kicking off the new decade with a number of updates designed to augment performance, security, and flexibility for Teradici All Access subscribers.
The updates are built into the 2020.01 software releases, rolled out late last month. Here are a few of the highlights: Expanded 4K monitor support - The latest version of PCoIP Zero Client firmware includes 4K EDID (extended display identification data) parsing, providing 4K monitor detection and support, highly valuable for those working with upgraded office monitors. It also offers 4K resolution support with PCoIP Remote Workstation Cards or Cloud Access Software, which was previously in technical preview and is now generally available.
PCoIP Ultra™ enhancement (with NVENC) - We have continued to build on our successful launch of PCoIP Ultra, with new modifications to improve overall bandwidth usage and adapt usage automatically based on network conditions.

A new release of Teradici Cloud Access Software is the first third-party desktop solution certified for appliances based on Microsoft’s Azure Stack platform, according to Teradici. Starting April 1st 2020, there will be some changes within the licensing of IGEL software: - The Custom Partition functionality will become part of IGEL Workspace Edition (no longer part of Enterprise Mgmt Pack)
- This change will be made with the 11.03.500 release, available starting April 1st 2020
- Also starting in April, the further development of Mobile Device Management will be stopped. The functionality will still be usable with the Enterprise Management Pack, but with no further updates
Also starting April 1st there will be an additional offering: IGEL Starter License - In addition to our current demo license, we will offer the IGEL Starter License
- The primary use is to simplify and accelerate the rollout of IGEL OS-powered endpoints
- Activated with the first boot, regardless of whether it is a UD pocket, converted device or an IGEL endpoint
- The IGEL Starter License is valid for 30 days (“time bomb”)
- As soon as a paid license is installed, the starter license will be overwritten
