IGEL has officially released v.11.01.110 which amongst other features includes the PCoIP client based on the Teradici PCoIP Software Client 19.05.1-18.04.
This means that you soon can benefit from improved performance and higher fram rate using 4K/UHD resolutions by using the enhanced PCoIP Ultra protocol even from a small thin client device such as the IGEL UD Pocket. The new version is available for download via the following link:

With the new software strategy IGEL is also implementing a new license model which allows you to easily license and manage any compatible 64-bit x86 device.
IGEL Workspace Edition is offered as a transferable license, meaning you can deploy a Workspace Edition license to one device and then move it to another device in the future. Using the new approach, you can move licenses around every day if you want.
You purchase the new IGEL software in three easy steps:
1. Workspace Edition perpetual license is a mandatory purchase, it consists of the core IGEL OS and the enterprise-class Universal Management Suite (UMS) and incorporates features including the Multimedia Codec Pack (MMCP), UMS High Availability (HA) and IGEL Management Interface (IMI) programming interface.
2. Enterprise Management Pack subscription license is an optional purchase, it is a set of IGEL UMS extensions offered as a subscription-based license to enhance the enterprise capabilities of your IGEL environment. With the Enterprise Pack, you can manage devices residing in far-reaching locations like remote offices and work-at-home users through a secure connector. Furthermore, with the Enterprise Pack, you can deploy custom applications and workloads directly to the IGEL OS itself. With Asset Tracking, you can report on all USB peripherals attached to your devices, and you can manage iOS devices using the IGEL UMS MDM feature.
3. Hardware is an optional purchase ie. in addition to use any compatible 64-bit x86 device you can still purchase IGEL hardware such as UD Pocket, UD2, UD3, UD6 and UD7.

With much excitement, the PCoIP Ultra protocol enhancements were made available via Cloud Access Software version 2019.05 back in May.
PCoIP Ultra helps advance market-leading performance for graphics-intensive applications in multicloud environments and I caught word that its launch was just the start of many more significant enhancements to come.
What’s next in this multi-release of enhancements? Lots! To name a few, Teradici is soon releasing the multi-codec architecture to support third-party protocols, NVIDIA NVENC (currently in beta), support for 10-bit color and with almost every release they continue further optimizations to provide the best user experience, including expanding our support for Wacom tablets.

The recent hype over hybrid cloud Hybrid cloud emerged as a hot topic at this year’s Google Next. This was evident in announcements from Google like Anthos (formerly Cloud Services Platform) – a solution enabling customers to build and manage modern hybrid applications across environments. Solutions throughout the pavilion also reinforced this theme with some creative, industry-specific demos showcasing its application. Teradici Cloud Access Software played a key part in the media and entertainment section demonstrating secure remote access that studios can use to work in the cloud. The software is designed to support real-time editing of complex projects, graphics and even use of standard office applications stored in the cloud or data center. The Google Cloud team used it to support an augmented reality demo produced with Zync Render by GCP.
