Newsletter no. 37 • JANUARY 2018
| IN THIS NEWSLETTER 2018 just kicked off and the Nordics are as on toes as ever. Alicia Adams obviously started a trend when she in 2013 was one of the first of mayor presenters in the world to make a Nordic selection of artists from all genres to be presented within the frame of a Nordic festival at Kennedy Center in Washington. Four years later we have a Nordic festival at The Chaillot in Paris and at Place des Arts in Montreal, South Bank Center in London just finished their Nordic focus. And their are more to come. The reason for this is a three edged sword; politics, artistic quality and diversity. We are allowed to travel on tax payer money to expand. Like just a few other national leaders in the world our Cultural Ministry really wants us to go find new markets and audiences outside our borders, to make connections, build bridges, find new friends to collaborate with and to also invite interesting artists to our own region. In 2018 you will meet us at APAP, APAM, IETM, ISPA, Edinburgh festivals, Tanzmesse NRW Düsseldorf, PAMS, CINARS, ICE HOT, HOT POT, SUBCASE and elsewhere. Find out more about Nordic performing arts and check out the web site and search engine MADEIN-THEWEB.COM.
MADEIN is an artist and presenter driven initiative.
