Raeymaekers is internationally renowned for his work as artistic programmer in Brugge, not least for his work as director for the international dance festival December Dance. - I’m extremely honoured and happy with the decision of the board, Samme Raeymaekers says. - Various experiences from my Bruges context, such as the quality and the curational approach of the dance program, the search for synergies in partnerships, audience development and my international perspective and network, will support me in my new assignment as Director of Dance House.

The work explores the theme of a woman's cycle of life. Hanna Brothers' choreography premiering at Kuopio Dance Festival on 17 June 2017 is produced in collaboration with Tero Saarinen Company. Tero Saarinen Company welcomes the summer season with performances of MORPHED at St. Petersburg's Open Look International Dance Festival ( 30 June 2017), Teatro Rossini in Civitanova ( 4 Aug 2017) and Southbank Centre's Royal Festival Hall in London ( 10 Aug 2017). Please get in touch with the company for presenter tickets. Tero Saarinen Company's annual Summer Intensive for dance professionals will be held on 21–25 Aug 2017. Including an exploration into Saarinen's movement language and repertoire exercises, the Intensive led by Sini Länsivuori and Hanna Pohjola focuses on the biomechanics behind Saarinen's technique. photo: Chrisander Brun 30 Sep 2017 Andersson Dance (SE) opens the new work ALAE, created for the three performers Javier Perez, Ida "Inxi" Holmlund and Jernej Bizjak and pianist Per Tengstrand. The work is based on Beethoven sonatas and the specific pieces will be chosen during the process of the creation. The work is a continuation of 20 years of ongoing research into the relationship between live music and movement which has defined the work of Andersson Dance. For full credits please read here. photo: Lia Jacobi Norrdans tours Sweden with the outdoor performance SJU GÅNGER SJU this summer, visiting Haparanda, Pajala, Umeå, Härnösand, Kramfors, Sollefteå, Skellefteå, Vännäs, Sundsvall, Bollnäs, Stockholm, Malmö and Lund. Read more about the tour dates here. The last tour of the performance took place in the summer of 2014 and it reached over 6,000 people. The seven choreographies are based on the book Sju bröder by the Finnish national author Aleksis Kivi. The seven internationally recognized choreographers Lidia Wos, Roy Assaf, Peter Jaško, Katrín Hall, Lenka Vagnerová, Joseph Sturdy, Jarek Cemerek got seven days to create seven minutes of dance each. Norrdans ambition is to offer dance experiences to everyone regardless of the place of residence or cultural habits. All that's needed is a big enough space and a bit of luck with the weather! The new version of BABY SPACE, choreographed installation for babies by Dalija Acin Thelander will be produced by The artground - a curious place to be, Singapore and will be premiered on 7 July 2017. The project is created in collaboration with composer and dancers from Singapore and it will remain in Singapore for continuous encounters with its audience. Interlacing contemporary dance, music and visual arts within an immersive, installation based environment, BABY SPACE invites its audience to a sensorially saturated experience and proposes an exceptional encounter with art. It has been produced so far in China, Japan, Denmark, Poland, Serbia and the upcoming one in planed for Nuuk Nordisk Kulturfestival 2017, Greenland. Sanna Kekäläinen's work HAFED COLLAGE OF DIFFERENCES AND FRAGILITY will be presented at Tanz im August-festival in Berlin 8 Aug-2 Sep 2017. This touching and rigorous work will be seen three times at Sophiensaele Festsaal. With Kekäläinen on stage is performer Maija Karhunen, lighting design is by Anniina Veijalainen. The work was premiered at Physical Art Theatre, Helsinki, in October 2016. Sanna Kekäläinen is known for her vast body of work, that has brought on stage a stubborn, independent, innocent in her nakedness, detached from the normative gender, loud, quirky and peculiar female character. photo: Yaniv Cohen After a dynamic residency at La Briqueterie, Paris (FR), Ina Christel Johannessen and team continues working on the production of FROZEN SONGS in Norway. The ensemble will during June work at Dansens Hus, Oslo to test and assemble the distinctive parts from a long and fruitful research process. After the summer the company goes to Hålogaland Teater/The Arctic Theatre, Tromsø (NO) for the final process of FROZEN SONGS before the world premiere on 7 Sep 2017 - and also showing 8-16 Sep 2017. After eight presentations in Tromsø, the production is presented at the esteemed Coda Oslo International Dance Festival, 25-26 Oct 2017. And the tour continues during 2018 /2019 ... FROZEN SONGS is produced by Hålogaland Teater(NO) and Zero Visibility Corp (NO), Ibsen International, Beijing (CHN). photo: Knut Bry Ingun Bjørnsgaard Prosjekt has spent some time at studio SEPT CENT QUATRE VINGT TROIS in Nantes (FR), working on their upcoming performance NOTES ON FRAILTY (working title). In this piece Ingun Bjørnsgaard investigates the complexities of womanliness. With literary references to feminist philosophy, Ingun Bjørnsgaard's muses move betweeen the sublime and the habitual in a choreographic exploration of the fine line between human beauty and failure. At the end of the 2-weeks residency the four dancers Catharina Vehre Gresslien, Marianne Haugli, Guro Schia and Ida Wigdel, and musician Christian Wallumrød performed a work-in-progress open to the public. photo: Weld Company PHOENIX is a work created by Rebecka Stillman for Weld Company (SE), which had its first showings in April 2016 at the main stage of Dansens Hus in Stockholm (SE). PHOENIX is a suggestion that does not aim at unity in identity. Instead it is a strive for a collective company identity that is shaped by diverse activities and focuses, constantly shifting and constantly reinventing itself, from the inside out as well as from the outside in. For full credits read here. Rebecka Stillman has for the past fifteen years engaged in different choreographic projects.
