In 2016 global temperatures reached a record high, and stories of extreme weather events were reported from around the world. For the over 650 million people in the world that live without access to clean water, climate change is expected to make an already difficult situation worse.
WaterAid and Sida are delighted to announce a panel of distinguished global experts and policy makers to discuss how improving access to clean water can make poor and vulnerable communities better able to withstand catastrophes, and how access to water for the world’s poorest people will be essential in building adaptable, more climate resilient communities.
Panelists:
Isabella Lövin, Minister for Climate and Sustainable development, Sweden (TBC)
Jan Eliasson, former Deputy Secretary General of the United Nations
