Heidi Vierthaler creates a world premiere for Skånes Dansteaters Kompani. AFTERLIFE takes place in a vast, empty swimming pool suspended outside of time. Various individuals from different timelines enter this dimension, each carrying traces of past roles, duties, emotions. Their presences overlapping and interrupting one another, making the pool vibrant with constantly changing scenarios. New connections and forms begin to emerge, as if the pool strips away what once covered them.

AFTERLIFE premieres on 24 Oct 2026 at Skånes Dansteater. Plays until 28 Nov 2026.

This year's production is called THE AUCTION - a completely new flower in Jo Strømgren Kompani's large repertoire bouquet. Where the company usually emphasizes storytelling, often with humour and theatricality, this time they present a more meditative journey of association and reflection. The performance is a collaboration with Trondheim Chamber Music Festival and Bergmund Waal Skaslien, initiator of the performance's theme and concept, and the company's composer for almost 30 years. THE AUCTION will premiere on 23-24 Sept 2026 at Verkstedhallen in Trondheim (NO), before visiting the Norwegian Opera and Ballet in Oslo (NO) on 19-22 Nov 2026.

THE AUCTION is an associative fable about objects we know but no longer have a relationship with. With abstract dance and newly composed music, the audience is invited to dig up their own memories and perhaps create new ones during the performance. As a modest tribute to the past, the performance can also be experienced as a commentary on today's material overconsumption. Choreography, scenography, lighting design, costumes by Jo Strømgren. The performance FULL takes on multiple dimensions as a zest for life, alcohol, and the darker shades of existence are woven together into a richly choreographed evening featuring performance artist Charlotte Engelkes and multi-disciplinary artist and dancer Tobias Ulfvebrand. The duo comes together through text and music, shifting between newly written folk songs, offbeat interpretations of Bellman’s epistles, Schönberg, and pure documentary storytelling. With a blend of warm humor and seriousness, they share reflections on growing up, contemporary life, and philosophical questions regarding existence itself.

FULL presents a tangle of wild partying and sober gravity. It is bold, it is full of heart—and it is fun! Texts by Marina Steinmo and Charlotte Engelkes. For full credits and contact information, please read here. Tickets here.

Premiere: 19 Nov 2026 at Ö2scenkonst in Stockholm (SE), with additional performances on 20, 27, and 28 Nov 2026.

An Astarte production supported by the Swedish Arts Council, the Swedish Arts Grants Committee, Region Stockholm, and the City of Stockholm. FULL is a guest production presented at Ö2scenkonst Södermalm.

Núx is the ancient Greek word for night, while brúx derives from a root meaning teeth grinding. Together they form Núx brúx – a poetic description of nocturnal teeth grinding: a body that refuses to rest, a friction that continues through the darkness.

In Greek choreographer Chara Kotsali’s physical and sonic dance ritual, the night becomes a space of resistance, desire, and longing. Together with Norrdans’ international ensemble, a carnivalesque world unfolds. Here, the night marks the beginning of a new day rather than the end of the previous one. The piece pays tribute to nocturnal interspecies alliances and the rebellious economies of the night.

NÚX BRÚX will have its world premiere on 2 Oct 2026 at Härnösands Teater (SE), followed by a tour across northern Sweden and a performance in Stockholm (SE) on 31 Oct 2026.

THE SWAMP is an immersive performance about the Internet, receiving its Swedish premiere at the Theatre Atalante in Gothenburg, Sweden, on 26–28 Nov 2026. The performance explores the darker side of the digital world, exposing the pitfalls of the Internet and the manipulation and violence that often remain hidden beneath the surface, under the radar on the dark Internet.

You are invited into an alluring, mysterious, and wildly growing swamp. On the way, you lose your sense of direction and must therefore take responsibility for the way forward through the swamp. But who decides the rules of the game? And is it even a game, or is it the harsh reality? With and by performance artists Annika B. Lewis and Helene Kvint. THE SWAMP is produced by Kassandra Production. Supported by the Danish Arts Foundation. Read more and book your ticket here.
