Starting on 19 Feb 2026, the Folkoperan in Stockholm (SE) will be transformed into the stage for Antonio Vivaldi's baroque opera THE OLYMPIADE. The direction is by Charlotte Engelkes, the musical director is Peter Spišský, and the set and lighting design are by the Folkoperan's new artistic director Linus Fellbom. The costume design is by Anna Ardelius. The choreographer is Sofia Södergård. Wigs and makeup by Therésia Frisk.
In THE OLYMPIADE, athletes and artistic souls meet in an intricate drama - colored by sensual confusion, and bonds of friendship that are put to the test. At the center is the prince of Crete, Licida - a charming, but untrained rookie in both love and sports. To win the heart of Princess Aristea, he must enter the match of his life. He therefore persuades his well-trained friend Megacle to compete in his place, with consequences that neither of them could have foreseen… For the full list of credits and additional information, please go here.- THE OLYMPIADE is not just about languishing love, lust, and complicated relationships with a lot of humor. It is also friendship. How much is it worth – and what are you willing to sacrifice for a true friend? says Charlotte Engelkes.Read more about Charlotte Engelkes at madeintheweb.com

The collaborative work FLOOD, choreographed by the internationally acclaimed Finnish choreographer Janina Rajakangas, premiered on 12 Feb 2026 at Kuopio City Theatre (FI).
FLOOD (Tulva in Finnish) emerges through the cooperation of professional dancers and local amateurs, transforming into a full-length contemporary dance performance. The work invites us to reflect on how, and around what, we humans gather. During the performance, the dance group pauses to reflect on the news feed. A flood of images about global uncertainty, the ecological crisis, and both good and bad news is captured as notes for the dancing ensemble. Instead of scrolling through the images, they stop to study and embody the postures of the people appearing in them.
After the FLOOD performances in Kuopio, it will be adapted for performances in other cities. FLOOD is produced by Dance Theatre Minimi and Entire Moved | Kaikki Liikkuu ry.

In KNOCKING Horácio Macuacua lets rhythm become body: a language of muscles, sweat, and breath. It speaks before we have words and moves us before we understand. It is both gravity and release, weight and play.
Norrdans’ ensemble is thrown into this current, carried by its relentless force, falling, rising, breathing in the same tempo. Here, rhythm becomes a universal alphabet. It brings us together into one body, one space, one now. Rhythm is not merely simple accompaniment, but a language of its own.
The work will have its world premiere on 6 Mar 2026 at Härnösands Teater (SE), followed by a tour in Sweden and a stop in Trondheim (NO). More info at norrdans.se.

Gunilla Heilborn's new piece WORKS AND DAYS is premiering at Norrlandsoperan, Umeå (SE), on 27 Feb 2026. A performance in two parts, WORKS AND DAYS, draws on the stories of ancient poets and a recent trip to Greece. Heilborn tries to see whether it is possible to link one event to another, or whether perhaps it's the lack of logic that characterizes everything we do. She makes lists of ships that have sailed the seas and of what has been done or should have been done. The essence of the work lies in its chaotic structure, but several elements recur in both parts: the journey and what we remember of our experience. As well as the question of whether it is possible to know what should be done on which days and why.
On stage: Gunilla Heilborn, Sophie Augot, and Ludvig Daae. The room, the light, and the music play an important role in the piece and were created by Heilborn's longtime collaborators, Katarina Wiklund, Minna Tiikkainen, and Kim Hiorthøy.
Tour dates: 27-28 Feb 2026; Norrlandsoperan, Umeå (SE), 3 Mar 2026; Sara Kulturhus, Skellefteå (SE), 7,11-14 Mar 2026; Dansens Hus, Stockholm (SE), 18 Mar 2026; Dansstationen Palladium, Malmö (SE)

THE SWAMP is an immersive performance about the Internet that re-premieres at Dansekapellet in Copenhagen (DK) on 13-18 April 2026. It is a performance about the pitfalls of the Internet, and the manipulation and violence that goes on under the radar on the dark Internet.
You are invited into an alluring, mysterious, and wildly growing swamp. On the way, you lose your sense of direction and must therefore take responsibility for the further way through the swamp. But who decides the rules of the game? And is it even a game, or is it the harsh reality? With and by performance artists Annika B. Lewis and Helene Kvint. Nagelhus Schia Productions has always been rooted in the present – and in the future. The company is now returning to its historical work for the first time. Not out of nostalgia, but to understand their own roots. Modern dance in Norway stands on the shoulders of pioneers such as choreographer Kjersti Kramm Engebrigtsen. By bringing FIGURES IN A LANDSCAPE back into focus, we acknowledge the artistic foundations that have made today’s practices possible.
FIGURES IN A LANDSCAPE (1985) was created at a time when dance in Norway was opening up and discovering new forms of expression. Nagelhus Schia Productions now brings the work back to the stage – in the very same room where the world premiere took place at Henie Onstad Kunstsenter more than forty years ago. When the company´s dancers enter this material, history is given a new body. This is work that seeks to understand where we come from – while also lifting our gaze toward what lies ahead. To create something true and alive today, we must listen to what came before us. In collaboration with Danseinformasjonen, Nagelhus Schia Productions will host a panel discussion exploring questions such as “What has changed, and what remains?”

MADEIN’s founder and director, Åsa Edgren, participated in a series of international congresses, festivals, and industry meetings during several intensive days in New York this past January. The visit focused on strengthening international collaboration, engaging with New York’s artistic community, and meeting with partners to explore future projects.
Among the many productive conversations were meetings with Alicia Adams, former Vice President of International Programming at the Kennedy Center, who—following recent organizational changes—has launched her own nonprofit initiative, URUCUM. The organization will develop projects at the intersection of artistic practice and ecology.
Åsa also attended the annual reception at the Swedish Consul General’s residence on Park Avenue, where she had the opportunity to present the activities of MADEIN’s members. The reception is held each year in collaboration with the Norwegian Consulate General, and this year also in partnership with ISPA (International Society for the Performing Arts).
During the event, the 2027 Summer Congress—scheduled to take place in Uppsala, Sweden, during the first week of June—was officially announced. Mark your calendars! The congress offers an excellent opportunity for professionals seeking to strengthen their international networks and engage with the global performing arts community. Uppsala Konsert & Kongress will host the program. The next ISPA Congress will take place in Singapore. MADEIN artists will be represented there. More information: www.ispa.org.
