Inspired by nature, animals, the mythical, and the elusive, choreographer Virpi Pahkinen, together with dancers Vanessa Lindblom and Pontus Sundset, presents a new site-specific work at Artipelag's sculpture park in the Stockholm archipelago (SE). The performance unfolds among the permanent exhibition Sculpture in Nature and Fredrik Wretman's current exhibition I C 3 D 2 (It's all in your head). The dancers move through nature and among the sculptures in a visually powerful encounter between body, art, and landscape.

STILL IN THE AIR draws inspiration from magnetism, airy moments, spirals, and pendulums. The performance is created in a choreographic dialogue between Claire Parsons and Viktor Gyllenberg. Claire's work is grounded in surrealism with a polyphonic look at life. Viktor, who has a background in circus, is interested in the crossing and meeting point of objects and bodies in motion. And humor - it's fun when it's fun!

On 21 May 2026, Helena Franzén was awarded the finest honorary prize in Swedish dance, the Carina Ari gold medal for meritorious contributions to Swedish dance life!
The motivation is:
”Helena Franzén is one of our foremost choreographers and dancers in the lyrical vein. After 35 years of activity, she is still active as a dancer herself. She addresses existential themes linked to memory, reflection and nature, works with great integrity and care for musicality and quality of movement. A fine example is the retrospective "Here-Us-Now", currently on tour this autumn, or her new duet "Compass". In her work, she likes to involve different generations of dancers and thus works for the succession of Swedish dance art – also as an educator. Together with Håkan Jelk, Helena Franzén has created experimental dance films for more than ten years that have been presented at international festivals. In this way, they create the opportunity for more people to take part in contemporary dance and also discover the art form of dance film.”

Two strong scenic universes meet at the Confidencen– Ulriksdal Palace Theatre in Stockholm (SE) in a charged dance evening on 26-27 Sept 2026, where experience, virtuosity and contemporary expression intersect. Choreographer and dancer Charlotta Öfverholm shares the stage with Stockholm 59° North – soloists from the Royal Ballet in a program that moves between physical intensity, musicality and poetic precision. Öfverholm performs IN A CAGE OF LIGHT with Jordi Cortes, legendary dancer from DV8 Physical Theatre, where the limitations of the body and the fragility of life are put at stake. This summer, KORDA celebrates its 15th anniversary at Matsesgården Stigsbo (SE), with a vibrant program of visual and performing arts. The festivities begin with a group exhibition in Gallery Klingbyggningen, featuring paintings, mixed media, prints and ceramics by Catharina Bauer, Birgitta Boholm, Lars Boberg, Gudrun Westerlund, Håkan Blomkvist, Karin Björnsdotter, Maria Hamberg, Marie Noree and Lou T. Lundqvist. The exhibition opens with a vernissage on 19 July 2026, inaugurated by Åke Bengtsson, Chairman of Folkets Hus & Parker Hofors. It is open Wednesday–Sunday, 1–4 pm, with the finissage on 6 Sep 2026.
On 23 July 2026, KORDA presents the premiere of FOREST & LAKE, a new solo performance by Linda Forsman, with additional performances on 24-25 July 2026.
The summer continues with the world premiere of SILVER, a new collaboration by Julyen Hamilton, Linda Forsman, Lou T. Lundqvist and Eleni Pantazatou. Internationally acclaimed choreographer Julyen Hamilton will also lead a workshop on 15–16 Aug 2026.

During July, Jukka Korpi is taking a short summer break from dancing to work on a poetry collection, made possible by a literature grant from the Nygrens Stiftelse foundation in Finland.
Korpi´s upcoming solo dance production, SURU – SORROW, was selected for the international Solo Dance Contest at the Gdańsk Dance Festival in Poland, taking place 14-17 Sep 2026. The piece will have its official premiere during the festival, alongside works by around 20 other international solo choreographers. Following the festival, Korpi will perform SURU – SORROW at 3:e Våningen in Gothenburg (SE) on 23 Oct 2026. More dates will be announced soon.
Korpi’s solo production for children and youth, FLYGANDE – FLYING, will next be performed in Eskilstuna on 13 Oct 2026. Additional autumn dates for this piece will be released later this year.
Looking ahead, his upcoming piece ÅRSTID – SEASON is set to premiere in the summer of 2027 at Snösätra Kulturpark in Stockholm (SE). More information about this long-term solo project will be shared in the future.

GJENSTAND OG FORTVILELSE (OBJECT AND DESPAIR) has been selected to play at the MOVE Dance Festival on 29 Aug 2026 at Teater Innlandet, Hamar (NO). Ingun Bjørnsgaard and dancer Catharina Vehre Gresslien will also share a workshop for young dancers during the festival, and Bjørnsgaard will participate in an artist talk.
In OBJECT AND DESPAIR, human fallibility is examined in close collaboration with dancers Catharina Vehre Gresslien, Edith Strand Askeland, Ludvig Daae, and composer and musician Jan Martin Smørdal.
Klassekampen’s critic wrote: “The new work by the master of Norwegian contemporary dance is a cultural event – and a digital detox.” And Dagsavisen called the performance “a fun, unpredictable and wild play with our different social roles.”
Black Box teater has launched the book #9 Ingun Bjørnsgaard Prosjekt: Pli à pli (1998) by Jonas Øren, in their series Scenekunstklassikere. The book can be purchased here.

The collaborative work FLOOD, choreographed by the internationally acclaimed Finnish choreographer Janina Rajakangas, premiered on 12 Feb 2026 in Kuopio City Theatre (FI). This highly popular production will be performed in various cities during the summer and fall of 2026! Read more here.
FLOOD emerges through the cooperation of professional dancers and local amateurs. During the performance, the dance group pauses to reflect on the news feed. The performers dance, run, and sing as the flood of images flows through their bodies. The piece invites us to reflect on what brings us together and what we let flow past us. The production will be staged at the Kotkan Meripäivät Festival on 22-23 July 2026 with local amateur performers.
In addition, the performance will be presented as a duet by dancers Katja Mustonen and Maria Mäkelä at the Night of the Arts in Helsinki (FI) on 20 Aug 2026. Read more here.
In Kuopio, the work will be performed with local amateur performers on 11 Nov and 19 Nov 2026.
