GJENSTAND OG FORTVILELSE (OBJECT AND DESPAIR) has been selected to play at the MOVE Dance Festival on 29 Aug 2026 at Teater Innlandet, Hamar (NO). Ingun Bjørnsgaard and dancer Catharina Vehre Gresslien will also share a workshop for young dancers during the festival, and Bjørnsgaard will participate in an artist talk.

In OBJECT AND DESPAIR, human fallibility is examined in close collaboration with dancers Catharina Vehre Gresslien, Edith Strand Askeland, Ludvig Daae, and composer and musician Jan Martin Smørdal.
Klassekampen’s critic wrote: “The new work by the master of Norwegian contemporary dance is a cultural event – and a digital detox.” And Dagsavisen called the performance “a fun, unpredictable and wild play with our different social roles.”

Black Box teater has launched the book #9 Ingun Bjørnsgaard Prosjekt: Pli à pli (1998) by Jonas Øren, in their series Scenekunstklassikere. On 3 June 2026, a presentation and conversation with Jonas Øren and Marie Bergby Handeland, author of #8 Hagar Malin Hellkvist Sellén: Rosa löften, was led by Snelle Ingrid Hall, dean and Associate Professor at the Academy of Dance, Oslo National Academy of the Arts. The book can be purchased here.

With THE UPHEAVAL, Skånes Dansteater and choreographer/environmental artist Philippe Blanchard explore ecologically sustainable approaches in the performing arts. Developed specifically for its location, the work moves between dance, installation, and immersive experience.

THE UPHEAVAL unfolds both outdoors in Kungsparken and inside Malmö's former casino, now temporarily activated as a space for imagining what a future art museum could become. Through practices of stillness and movement, the project cultivates an attentiveness to the environmental web of relations in which we are already implicated. The work explores opacity not as obscurity, but as a way of remaining open to complexity, interdependence, and the unknowable dimensions of relation. THE UPHEAVAL is a collaboration between Skånes Dansteater, Malmö Konstmuseum and Malmö Sommarscen. Performs 3-9 July 2026 at Konstmuseet i Kungsparken in Malmö (SE). Choreography by Philippe Blanchard in collaboration with the dancers. Read more about THE UPHEAVAL here.

What is unfolding deep in the Swedish forest this summer at KORDA Art in Motion & Culture Center, Matsesgården Stigsbo?

Together with Philipp Weiss and Martin Gustafsson, KORDA is shaping a living forest garden on the slope leading down to Lake Grycken. With great care and dedication, the Garden Group has planted a rich variety of trees and shrubs – pear trees, apple trees, hazel trees, walnut trees, sea buckthorn, mulberry trees, plum trees, cherry plums, blueberries, sweet cherries, and medlars.

The program includes educational outreach, with Linda Forsman leading workshops for cultural schools across Dalarna in June.

At KORDA’s Gallery, Klingbyggningen in Matsesgården Stigsbo, a vibrant group exhibition opens on 19 July 2026 and runs through 6 Sep 2026. Featuring digital art, painting, mixed media, graphics, and ceramics, the exhibition showcases works by Catharina Bauer, Birgitta Boholm, Lars Boberg, Gudrun Westerlund, Håkan Blomkvist, Karin Björnsdotter, Maria Hamberg, Marie Noree, and Lou T Lundqvist.

KORDA also presents a new solo work by Linda Forsman, FOREST & LAKE, premiering on 23 July 2026 – a piece deeply rooted in the surrounding landscape.

Later in the season, SILVER, a new collaborative performance by Julyen Hamilton, Linda Forsman, Lou T Lundqvist, and Eleni Pantazatou, premieres on 13 Aug 2026. This is followed by a workshop with Julyen Hamilton on 15–16 Aug 2026.

The collaborative work FLOOD, choreographed by the internationally acclaimed Finnish choreographer Janina Rajakangas, premiered on 12 Feb 2026 in Kuopio City Theatre (FI). This highly popular production will be performed in various cities during the summer and fall of 2026!

FLOOD emerges through the cooperation of professional dancers and local amateurs. During the performance, the dance group pauses to reflect on the news feed. The performers dance, run, and sing as the flood of images flows through their bodies. The piece invites us to reflect on what brings us together and what we let flow past us. The production will be staged at the Kotkan Meripäivät Festival on 22-23 July 2026 with local amateur performers.

In addition, the performance will be presented as a duet by dancers Katja Mustonen and Maria Mäkelä at the Night of the Arts in Helsinki  (FI) on 20 Aug 2026. Read more here.

In Kuopio, the work will be performed with local amateur performers on 11 Nov and 19 Nov 2026. Read more here.

Byström Källblad’s dance and voice performance CALLING WE ARE HERE will be presented at Sergels torg in Stockholm (SE) on 3 July 2026 as part of Kulturhuset Stadsteatern’s Parkteatern program, På Sergels torg and Dans i stan / Cirkus i stan. CALLING WE ARE HERE celebrates the strength and collective voices of girls and women across generations. Through dance, movement and powerful vocal expression, the work transforms the public square into a space of visibility, connection and belonging. Inspired by the tradition of kulning – the far-reaching calls once used by women in the borderlands of Sweden, Norway and Finland – it echoes voices from the past while speaking directly to the present.

On 29 Aug 2026, Byström Källblad premieres the new work SHE KNOWS at Karmasbo smedja in Skinnskatteberg (SE). The work explores treasures carried through movement and voice – unearthed, shared, and passed on without leaving a trace on the land. Choreography, a four-thousand-year-old text, and music weave together in a poetic performance that carries questions from the past into the future.

Supported by Kulturrådet, Stockholms stad, Region Västmanland, Region Stockholm, Konstnärsnämnden and produktionsresidens SITE Stockholm 2026.

After a sold-out spring, the Folkoperan in Stockholm (SE) is now releasing a new season of THE OLYMPIADE with a new premiere on 3 Apr 2027. Tickets are on sale here

Vivaldi’s THE OLYMPIADE took Stockholm (SE) by storm when it was performed at the Folkoperan from 19 Feb-22 Mar 2026. This genre-defying production unites opera singers, dancers, and musicians in a visually stunning performance led by director Charlotte Engelkes and musical director Peter Spišský. Created in collaboration with Linus Fellbom (lighting), Anna Ardelius (costume), and Sofia Södergård (choreography), the show is a high-energy celebration of struggle and emotion.

"A boundlessly wonderful production... bursting with whimsy." – Svenska Dagbladet (SE)
