Welcome to SynchZipped

I am pleased to share the latest edition of SynchZipped. The past few months have been full of growth, rewarding client work, new collaborations and plenty of opportunities to come together as a team.

A key milestone this quarter was our integration with Qap Legal Advisors. With the Qap team now part of Synch we have expanded our capabilities in M&A, capital markets, corporate law and strategic advisory as well as increased our capacity to support clients in larger and more complex matters. We are delighted to have them with us and look forward to building on this together.

It has also been a strong quarter for our practices and clients. Synch was named a recommended firm in Sweden in the inaugural edition of The Copyright 1000, recognising the outstanding work of our copyright team. We have also advised clients on a wide range of transactions and milestones, from financing rounds and acquisitions to regulatory matters and international expansion.

Innovation continues to shape how we work. We have kept sharing our expertise through thought leadership and by taking part in industry gatherings such as Nordic Privacy Arena, Nordic Fintech Week and International Bar Association Annual Conference.

Beyond Synch, AGRD Partners continued to grow, with Ascente Law joining the group and strengthening AGRD's presence in southern Sweden.

This quarter has also reminded us how much community matters. Through SynchHeart, we were proud to support Johan Ragnar and Team Rynkeby Helsingborg on their 1,160-kilometre ride to Paris in support of children with critical illnesses and their families.

And of course, we made time to be together outside our everyday work. Our annual Out of Office took us to Ekerö for two days as a team, a chance to strategise, recharge and enjoy each other's company away from the office.

There is a lot happening at Synch, and even more ahead. Thank you to our clients, colleagues, partners and friends for your continued trust, collaboration and support.

Enjoy your reading!
Warm regards,
Jim

Synch accelerates growth through the integration of Qap Legal Advisors

Synch Law is integrating Qap Legal Advisors, a Stockholm M&A boutique, effective 1 September 2026. Qap will cease operating separately and all its employees join Synch. The move strengthens Synch's capabilities in M&A, capital markets, corporate law and strategic advisory, and increases its capacity to take on more and larger assignments. It builds on Synch's existing strength advising startups, scaleups, entrepreneurs, investors and established companies. The two firms bring complementary expertise and a shared view of modern, business-oriented legal advice. For clients, it means a broader team covering everything from day-to-day business law to complex transactions and capital markets matters.

DOES YOUR BUSINESS PROMOTE BEING GREEN OR SUSTAINABLE? WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW BEFORE 27 SEPTEMBER!

The EU's Empowering Consumers for the Green Transition Directive (ECGT) applies from 27 September 2026 and tightens how businesses can talk about environmental performance. Generic claims like "eco-friendly" or "sustainable" are banned unless backed by recognised proof, such as the EU Ecolabel. Product-level "carbon neutral" claims based on offsetting are prohibited outright, and net-zero pledges need an independently verified plan. Self-made sustainability labels are out, and logos, names and imagery can count as claims too. The rules target B2C, but may shape B2B assessments. Audit your claims, match them to evidence and set internal guidelines.

Building the Foundations for Scalable AI Adoption: How Verisure Prepared Its Legal Function for the Future

AI has truly changed the way we work." That's how Nina Cronstedt, Group CLO at Verisure, describes where her legal function is today.

But it didn't get there by buying a tool. That was the insight.

Nina made AI a personal priority and said so, clearly and regularly. Around that came an AI Legal Academy, a Legal Function AI Task Force, AI Champions, hackathons and a network of super users sharing what worked. Through all of it, lawyers stayed responsible for the final output.

We were embedded in the team along the way, bringing perspective, supporting the experimentation and helping legal counsels move from asking "should we use AI?" to asking "how do we work with it?"

That's the kind of work we love. Being close enough to a legal function to help them build a durable, lawyer-led AI operating model.

Synch Snapshots
Synch took part in this year’s Nordic Privacy Arena, one of the leading Nordic forums for data protection and privacy.

Elisavet Dravalou-Samor joined the organising committee for the second year running, while Karolina Lindgren Pekkari and Yasmine Odenhall represented Synch across two days of discussions on digital sovereignty, data subject requests, criminal data, AI, cloud and the evolving European privacy landscape.

A particular highlight was The Incident Room, a live ransomware simulation led by Coveware, where participants navigated an unfolding cyber incident in real time.

Thank you to Forum för Dataskydd for once again bringing together privacy professionals, regulators and experts from across Europe.
Synch took part in this year’s Nordic Fintech Week in Copenhagen, where Johan Ragnar represented the firm across two packed days at TAP1.

With more than 2,000 attendees, 500+ companies and 150+ financial institutions, the event brought together founders, investors, financial institutions and advisors from across the Nordic fintech ecosystem.

AI featured prominently throughout the programme, including discussions around agentic payments and the legal questions they raise – particularly around mandate, responsibility and liability when an AI agent completes a transaction.

Thank you to Nordic Fintech Week for another great gathering in Copenhagen – see you next year.

Cycling from Sweden to Paris for a Cause That Matters

Synch is proud to have supported Johan Ragnar as he cycled 1,160 kilometres from Sweden to Paris with Team Rynkeby Helsingborg, raising funds and awareness for children with critical illnesses and their families.

The journey took the team through demanding conditions, including long stages, strong winds and temperatures reaching 38 degrees. Backed by months of preparation and a dedicated support crew, the riders pushed through both the physical and mental challenges together.

Team Rynkeby’s 68 teams across eight countries raised more than SEK 100 million for important causes, including Barncancerfonden and Hjärnfonden. Synch is proud to have sponsored Johan’s fundraising and to support an initiative built on commitment, teamwork and a cause that truly matters.

Out of Office
In September, it was time for one of the highlights of the year – our annual Out of Office.

This time, we left Stockholm behind and headed to Season Hotel on Ekerö for two days together away from our usual surroundings.

With a change of scenery, plenty of time to connect and the opportunity to spend time together outside the office, the trip gave us a welcome chance to catch up, recharge and enjoy each other’s company.

After two full days together, we returned to Stockholm with new energy, great memories and another successful Out of Office in the books.

A great reminder that some of the best moments as a team happen outside the office.
