October 2025

Welcome to SynchZipped

As the leaves turn and the air sharpens, I find myself reflecting not only on the season behind us but also on the movement we are building together.

This autumn has been filled with energy, ideas, and encounters – from conversations on AI and innovation to bold startup pitches and inspiring gatherings with entrepreneurs and leaders. What strikes me most is the sense of momentum: the way our clients, our partners, and our team continue to lean into change with curiosity and ambition.

At Synch, we have always believed that law is not only about finding answers, but also about achieving clarity, fostering connections, and driving progress. That belief is what guides us into our next chapter – as we join forces within AGRD Partners. In this newsletter, I share my reflections on this partnership and why we see it not as a shift in direction but as the natural continuation of a movement we started nearly twelve years ago.

I want to extend my gratitude to our clients, partners, and friends.

Thank you for trusting us, challenging us, and helping to shape this journey with us.
The season ahead holds both challenges and opportunities, and I am confident that together, we will continue to turn complexity into clarity.

Warm regards,
Jim Runsten

Synch joins AGRD Partners – accelerating client value through innovation, technology and smarter collaboration

In August, we announced the launch of AGRD Partners – a new platform bringing together six leading business law firms, including Synch. With nearly 250 professionals across nine offices, AGRD Partners is designed to drive progress in a sector long shaped by tradition.

By combining forces, the group will invest in technology, new services, and smarter collaboration to meet the evolving needs of ambitious businesses – while each firm continues to operate under its own brand and identity.

Synch and AGRD Partners:
Evolving to Deliver More for Our Clients

Twelve years ago, when we founded Synch, our ambition was simple: to challenge the traditional model of business law and create something calmer, clearer, and more connected to technology, and to our clients.

Joining AGRD Partners is the natural evolution of that vision. It allows us to scale our impact, deepen our expertise, and continue delivering advice that not only meets today’s challenges but empowers our clients to lead in a rapidly changing world.

As part of AGRD Partners, we join a network of six forward-thinking firms and nearly 250 professionals who share our belief that legal services should drive business success, not just support it. Together, we’re building a platform designed for clarity, confidence, and growth.

Synch Snapshots
33-Listan

Synch had the pleasure of attending this year’s 33-listan Alumni Gathering at Skandia’s headquarters in Stockholm.

As a proud partner, we were delighted to take part in the program. Jonathan Clauss joined a panel on talent and structural capital – a key area where legal frameworks support long-term growth.

It was a great opportunity to connect with founders, entrepreneurs, and partners from the 33-list network.

Thank you to Ny Teknik, Skandia, and all partners for an inspiring afternoon – we’re already looking forward to the final gathering on December 3rd!
She Leads. She Owns.

Synch hosted the debut of She Leads. She Owns. together with Nyfikna Investerare and Joanna Redebrant – an evening of sharp conversations and powerful connections between board professionals, investors, and entrepreneurs.

The panel explored how to activate networks, shape tomorrow’s boards, and support the next generation of female leaders.

A warm thank you to our panellists: Carolina Engström Lökken, Maria A. Grimaldi, and Sofia Tångelin from Synch.

We’re proud to support initiatives that elevate leadership, ownership, and diversity – and look forward to seeing She Leads. She Owns. grow further.
Norrsken

Synch ran a fully booked Lunch & Learn session at Norrsken House: “Raising Capital and Establishing Incentive Programs – Legal Do’s and Don’ts for Founders.”

Led by Andreas Börjesson and Sofia Tångelin, the session offered hands-on legal insights for founders navigating funding rounds and incentive structures.

Thank you to everyone who joined, asked great questions, and shared their own experiences.

At Synch, we’re passionate about helping founders grow their businesses with confidence – and we’re already looking forward to the next session!
Nordic Tech Week

Synch had the pleasure of joining Pitch X-Press during Nordic Tech Week – a unique startup event where founders pitched their ideas on a moving tram through the streets of Stockholm.

10 startups. 10 stops. 1 iconic bus transformed into a rolling pitch stage – high pressure, high energy, and high impact.

As proud partners, we awarded the winning startup Cerebella with our Legal Startup Kit – congratulations to Lily Mainstone-Cotton for an inspiring pitch!

Huge thanks to everyone who made this event possible – we loved being part of this bold and brilliant initiative.
AI Salon

Synch is proud to be a long-time supporter and sponsor of AI Salon Stockholm, and the first session of the autumn brought incredible energy to Norrsken House.

Co-hosted with NVIDIA, the evening explored the theme “AI-first” with standout talks from Howard Wright (NVIDIA) and Patrik Liu Tran (Validio), alongside sharp demos from exciting AI startups.

Thank you to the vibrant AI community that showed up – we’re already looking forward to the next salon on October 14 on the topic "AI - safeguarding our democracies and cognitive freedom."
Nordic Privacy Areana

Synch attended the Nordic Privacy Arena 2025 – and we’re proud to see our colleague Elisavet Dravalou-Samor at the heart of this year’s program development.

With the theme “A Decade of Progress, A Future of Responsibility”, the event honoured the DPOs, privacy professionals, and advocates driving the field forward.

It was an inspiring start to two days of sharp insights, engaging discussions, and a celebration of 10 years of Nordic privacy leadership – a journey Synch is proud to be part of.

New Partnership
We’re excited to share that Synch is partnering with Growth Minds, Scandinavia’s fastest-growing executive community for startup and scaleup leaders.

For us, this isn’t just a formal partnership, but a chance to team up with a network that shares our values—clarity, learning, and paying it forward.

Growth Minds brings together ambitious founders and executives across Stockholm and Copenhagen, and we see a great opportunity to support their journey with the legal clarity and business-focused advice Synch is known for.

As part of the partnership, we’ll be involved in events and initiatives that strengthen the community and help leaders grow with confidence.

We look forward to building this together and supporting the entrepreneurs who are shaping the future of business in the Nordics.

We’re excited to welcome Oscar Tollofsen to Synch!

Fresh from earning his law degree at Stockholm University, Oscar joins us with a passion for regulatory complexity and a sharp curiosity for how law and innovation intersect.

With hands-on experience from the telecom sector and the Swedish Competition Authority, he brings valuable insight into digital markets and the evolving regulatory landscape shaping today’s tech-driven businesses.

Oscar’s analytical mindset, determination, and collaborative approach make him an excellent fit for Synch’s clear, forward-looking way of working. He shares our belief in combining legal precision with business understanding to create practical, meaningful value for clients.

We’re delighted to have Oscar on board as we continue to support the companies shaping tomorrow.

Synch Out of Office

In mid-September, we traded the city skyline for sea views and set off by boat to Sandhamn for this year’s Out of Office – two days of conference, connection, and classic Swedish crayfish celebration.

The weather delivered one of those crisp, golden September days that make you fall in love with the archipelago all over again. Between team sessions, walks by the water, and laughter over coffee, we found space to reflect, reset, and reconnect.

We wrapped it all up with a proper crayfish party – full of songs, stories, and memories that will last well into the darker season.

We’re lucky to have a team that brings both sharp thinking and big heart to everything we do – and to take moments like these to step back, slow down, and enjoy it together.

Let’s keep connected!
