We welcome our new member, Kompani Giraff!

Kompani Giraff creates visual and unique circus performances with a foundation of poetic narrative and a passion for magic in everyday life situations. The company´s shows are based on young people’s perspectives and the trust in children’s ability to absorb complex subject issues. Kompani Giraff is based in Stockholm (SE).

THE PILE is a flexible circus performance about an unmanageable pile and the desire to break free. Three unreasonably flexible circus performers navigate an unwieldy pile. They change shape, dissolve, and reinvent themselves in startling formations. Through circus, humour and magic, THE PILE tells the story of the contradiction of wanting to belong, and at the same time longing to break free. Kompani Giraff invites young audiences to a work inspired by an absurdist and surrealist art tradition. Through spectacular, movement-based fabric sculptures, existential themes of growth, resistance, and liberation are explored.

Kompani Giraff is back again at Dansens Hus in Stockholm (SE)  after the audience successes MOLN (2022) and A STUDY OF LOSSES (2024). THE PILE has its world premiere on 20 March 2026 at Dansens Hus (co-producer) in Stockholm (SE). More info and tickets here.

It is with great pleasure that Nagelhus Schia Productions announces a new collaboration with Damien Jalet, one of the world’s leading choreographers. The previous collaboration between Jalet and Nagelhus Schia Productions resulted in the critically acclaimed production DUELS at the Vigeland Museum in 2020. DUELS later became a film directed by Jonas Åkerlund, currently being screened at film festivals worldwide.

This piece, - THRICE- like its name suggests, is a triptych. The number three is an important one, both in the work of Damien Jalet and in the references he cites, from Greek tragedy to Japanese theatre, mathematics to religion; past, present, and future, body, mind, and soul; matter, time, and space.

Premiere: 21 June 2025 at The Norwegian Opera & Ballet in Oslo (NO). Running 21 June–22 June 2025.
Tour dates: 23 July 2025, Kalamata International Dance Festival (GR), 28 and 30 July 2025, ImPulsTanz in Vienna (AT), 24-25 Sep 2025, Bærum Kulturhus (NO).

UP-AND-DOWN-AND-UP- is an interactive dance performance that welcomes young audiences aged 4–8 years. A dance performance that invites children to experience how movement affects our mood, mind, and attitude towards others.

A white bouncy castle rests on the stage and inflates during the performance. The castle becomes a common place to explore and express joy and happiness, for ourselves and together. It's a "work-formance", starting with a workshop and turning into a performance where the young audience drives the movement forward.

UP-AND-DOWN-AND-UP- premiered at Skånes Dansteater, Malmö (SE) on 31 May 2025 and is touring in Skåne (SE) in June. Choreography by Jernej Bizjak in collaboration with the dancers. More info and tour dates here.

Dance Theatre Minimi's artistic director and choreographer, Taneli Törmä, is inspired by human connection, touch, and relationships. ORANGE is a dance performance created for everyone, especially for children aged 4 to 9 and the adults in their lives.

The project draws inspiration from Reidar Särestöniemi's 1967 painting, Kielto ja Kaipaus. In the painting, two bears are seen embracing in an orange field. It's a playful and caring image – the orange color can symbolize shared connection, understanding, and respect for one another.

The work began during the Silence Residency in the village of Kaukonen (FI) in August 2024, and will premiere at the Särestöniemi Museum in Kaukonen on 1 Aug 2025. The performance is part of the Reidar100 anniversary program. Read more here. Do you need more information? Contact Oona Pappila, sales, marketing, and information officer, here.

STUFF IN THE PARK invites audiences to experience four distinctive and powerful dance works by some of the Nordic region’s most exciting choreographers. Each piece is adapted to the outdoor space it inhabits, touring through parks across Sweden. Among blossoming flowers, fresh air, and vibrant summer energy, world-class dance and choreography emerge.

Janina Rajakangas presents A PROCESSION – a playful parade of dance, song, and instruments that celebrates the strange beauty within us. Philip Berlin's THE PLEASURE OF WASTE dives into our obsession with productivity and growth, offering sharply focused choreography that questions our way of living. Sigrid Stigsdatter's WAILING is a raw, emotional search for resonance in a quieting world, a blend of howls, movement, and longing. In FOOT FORWARD AND THE OTHER ONE TOO THREE, Ingrid Berger Myhre lets dancers step through the park in a witty, spontaneous game of language, rhythm, and connection.

STUFF IN THE PARK tours 28 May- 28 June 2025 across Sweden. Find tour dates and more info at norrdans.se.

Engelkes has created a multitude of inimitable performances connected to Wagner’s opera world - read more here. LOHENGRIN at Malmö Opera is the first time she directs a Wagner opera in its entirety.

“Wagner, for me, has always been a source of playfulness in a divine musical world, where relationships unfold within ourselves to develop us sensually and spiritually,” says Engelkes.

The premiere takes place on 26 Oct 2025, on Malmö Opera’s main stage. Book your ticket here.
