DETACHED FROM OTHERS explores how a state like loneliness can be expressed choreographically and musically. Can loneliness even be represented in a space filled with an audience? Loneliness is an existential foundation for life and a societal problem, linked to increased mental struggles and mortality but also offering serenity in self-imposed isolation. It is from this thematic ambivalence that the performance takes its starting point.

The performance is created by Jon R. Skulberg, with music by composer Lil Lacy. On stage is the unique dancer Kenzo Kusuda. The music is played by organist David Bendix Nielsen and recorded and mixed by the renowned sound producer Preben Iwan. The costumes will be created by Koh Taniguchi. The dramaturgy is created in collaboration with Astrid Hansen Holm. Read more here.

Shows: 25-28 Feb and 1 Mar 2025, Dansehallerne, Copenhagen (DK)

Claire Parsons Co. has searched for possible expansions for several years as an independent dance company without a production space. After a successful collaborative development, the company can now open the doors to Culture House Kungsholmen. The Culture House will be inaugurated on 22 Jan 2025 during a program featuring various works, including I'M THINKING ABOUT by Claire Parsons Co.

In the past year, Claire Parsons Co. has presented five productions – I'M THINKING ABOUT, YELLOW, LITTLE SWAN LAKE, MARMALADE, and DUST – in Sweden and abroad to an audience of 7685 children and adults in total. Autumn was especially busy. As part of Salto, DUST met over 4000 children on tour in the South of Sweden. The company is overwhelmed by all the wonderful comments they have received from the audiences and incredibly grateful for the dedicated collaborators: performance venues big and small and culture coordinators in cities and towns.

The social media mirroring effect multiplies our desires and inhibitions, directing our attention to a place where we succumb to our becoming. In the work HAUNTED DESIRES, three white gay men delve into their self-image, looking into the things they look at too much. Focusing on their screens and our seemingly hysterical obsession with coveted material and bodies. Here, the choreography delves into, infiltrates, and transforms the material constantly washing over us. From this, a dance is born, and three beings are baptized in arbitrary algorithms and abandoned in a place where all they can do is practice their language.

In HAUNTED DESIRES, Björn Säfsten delves further into man's constant failures with communication and the impact these failures have on the individual. The work centers specifically on iconography created by men seeking to be desired by other men, and the dancers explore whatever the algorithms constantly throw at them. The piece was created by having the dancers randomly select clips from their social media algorithms, which are now exposed on stage. Here, the autobiographical blends with the fictional, the sought-after with the real, in a mishmash of exposed, haunted desire. Do we have to become what we desire?

Performance dates: 7-8 Mar 2025 at Inkonst, Malmö (SE).

LANDSCAPES explores the intersection of two groove-based movement practices and is created for the two dancers, Victor Fröjd and Jon Bugge Mariussen. Inspired by couple dance as a phenomenon and pulse as a medium, the work explores how similarities and differences can be passed on between the dancers in order to create new and fleeting landscapes of crafts and experiences. A work that strives to give the audience an experience of being immersed in the dance rather than watching it from a distance.

Tour dates: 5 Apr 2025, Knivsta Centrum för idrott och kultur (SE), 23-24 Apr 2025, Dansens Hus, Stockholm (SE), 2-3 May 2025, Rosendal Teater, Trondheim (NO)

In NET, for children 5–9 years and their grown-ups, a large net spread out into the space. Together with three dancers, the audience unfolds the performance, and a choreographic kaleidoscope emerges. Here, we lose ourselves in an undulating landscape of 192 elastic squares, and with dance as the driving force, they open new doors through which the imagination can sneak in. Accompanied by catchy beats and melodic loops, we explore with each other in an aesthetic experience. Read more here.

Shows: 13–16 Feb 2025, Dansehallerne, Copenhagen (DK)
