I am delighted to share this year’s last Zipped with you as we close out an eventful autumn and year. Reflecting on the past months, we’re grateful for the trust and collaboration of our clients, partners, and friends. It’s been a season of meaningful milestones and exciting developments.
One of our proudest moments was announcing Erica Antonovic as Synch’s newest partner, recognising her incredible contributions to the firm's growth and development. We’ve also welcomed a new colleague to sharpen our AI practice, relaunched our SynchWakeup sessions, and celebrated impactful partnerships that continue to drive innovation and development.

We are excited to welcome Arunendu Mazumder to Synch! With a background as a lawyer from Bangladesh, an LL.M. from the University of Oslo, and experience with the WHO in Hungary, Arunendu has chosen to focus on the transformative potential of AI in the legal world.
At Synch, Arunendu is eager to work with the team to develop cutting-edge legal solutions, share knowledge about AI, and help position Synch at the forefront of innovation in the legal industry.
So, what is your first impression after starting Synch? My first impression of Synch was overwhelmingly positive. My colleagues have been wonderful - fun, friendly, and full of energy, which made me feel immediately welcomed.
Passionate about human rights, Arunendu is driven to address challenges like bias and privacy concerns in the rapidly evolving tech landscape. Outside of work, he’s an avid photographer, a creative cook, and an enthusiastic people person who thrives on collaboration and innovation.

The “24-month rule” under the Swedish Agency Work Act, which became fully enforceable on October 1, 2024, brings significant challenges for businesses.
Companies hiring consultants from staffing agencies for more than 24 months may need to offer employment or compensation, while staff providers must prepare for the possibility of customers offering their employees direct employment.
Led by our experts Mathilda Nordmark and Lina Persson, the seminar explored the rule’s critical elements, ways to determine if consultants are affected, and the actions required to ensure compliance and mitigate risks.

The new act will bring several changes aimed at modernizing the country's patent framework and aligning it with the European Patent Convention (EPC) and the Agreement on a Unified Patent Court (the UPC agreement).
